What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

This notice is for people aged 11 and 12 who use TalentXP.

1. Who are we?

We are GetMyFirstJob Ltd, also known as Talent People. We run Work Experience Programmes through a platform called TalentXP.

We are responsible for keeping your information safe. You can contact us any time:

2. What is this notice for?

When you join a programme, we need to collect some information about you to make it work. This notice explains:

  • What information we collect
  • Why we collect it
  • Who can see it
  • How long we keep it
  • What you can do if you want us to change or delete it

You have not given us permission for us to collect this information — we collect it because we need it to run the programme for you. This is allowed under a UK law called UK GDPR.

3. What information do we collect about you?

Only the minimum we need to run the programme.

Here is exactly what we collect when you join:

Your name So we know who you are and can put your name on your certificate.
Your email address So we can set up your account and send you important messages about the programme.
Your date of birth So we know you are old enough to join and apply the right protections for your age. We never show this to anyone else on the platform.
Your progress and module completions So we know what you’ve completed and can give you a certificate when you finish.

What we do NOT collect from you (because you are under 13):

  • Your gender
  • Your ethnicity or religion
  • Information about any disabilities
  • Your phone number or home address
  • Your social media profiles

4. Why do we need this information?

We need your information to:

  • Set up your account so you can log in
  • Let you access your work experience modules
  • Track what you’ve completed so you can get your certificate

That’s it. We don’t use your information for anything else.

5. How long do we keep your information?

We keep your information for 2 years after the last time you used the platform.

6. Who can see your information?

Most of your information is private. Here is exactly who can see what:

7. Your rights — what you (and your parents) can ask us to do

You have rights over your information. Your parents or guardians can also use these rights on your behalf.

See your information You can ask us to show you everything we have about you.
Correct your information If something is wrong, you can ask us to fix it.
Delete your information You can ask us to delete everything. We’ll do this unless there’s a legal reason we have to keep it.
Stop using your information You can ask us to stop using your information in certain ways.
Get a copy of your information You can ask for a copy of your information to take somewhere else.
Make a complaint If you think we’ve done something wrong, you can report it to the ICO (the UK’s data protection authority) at ico.org.uk.

To use any of these rights, email us at data@getmyfirstjob.co.uk or ask a parent, carer, or trusted adult to do it for you.

8. How do we keep your information safe?

We take security seriously. Here is what we do to protect your information:

  • Your information is stored on secure Microsoft servers in the UK
  • Only people who need to can access your information
  • Everything is encrypted — that means scrambled so that nobody can read it if they shouldn’t
  • We test our security regularly

9. What happens when you turn 13?

When you log in on or after your 13th birthday, your account will be updated.

We will show you this privacy notice and our main Privacy Policy, and ask you to confirm you have read them.

Once you confirm, your account moves to the standard 13+ settings. This means:

  • You can choose to share optional information like your gender or ethnicity if you want to
  • You can choose to receive marketing emails about career opportunities if you want to
